Best WordPress Plugins | Why to Use Comment Notifier

Interacting with your audience is the primary method for developing trust and likability.  Because people do business with those who they know, like, and trust it’s imperative that you establish a relationship with your readers but how do you do it?   The biggest problem with interacting with your blog readers is that only 1 out of every 100 readers will comment on your blog.   Most people won’t comment unless:

  1. They already know, like, & trust you.
  2. You’ve already a bunch of comments on the page when they get there.
  3. You REALLY make them mad! (I advise avoiding this one in most cases!)

Simple things like asking questions at the end of your blog posts or writing about things that are considered controverial might work, but the truth is, it’s going to be more about what you do outside of your website than what you do on it!

First, you’ve got to get out there and find an audience that is interested in your topic.  They are out there believe me!  There is a huge number of smart people on the internet who love to give their opinions.  Other bloggers are a good starting point.  Share you comments with them on their sites and leave your link.  You will be amazed at how other bloggers will reciprocate!

Next, if you aren’t on social media sites like FaceBook and Twitter,  make it a priority to get those set up immediately if not sooner!  I had an experience just this weekend with a post I put on that was retweeted by three people who I don’t even know yet!  You need that kind of exposure and you need to make it a point to find out who those people are who are reading you and start interacting with them!  The point is, social media can get you some new readers quickly and they if they have interacted on your social media stream, there’s a good chance that they are interested in your topic.  Now, it’s up to you to encourage them to comment on your blog which really shouldn’t be that difficult since you already know these people love to interact.  They are on social media sites to be social!  Grab these people and draw them to your website.  If you need help getting started with social media see this post.

Once you have figured out how to encourage commenting, make it easy for your readers to keep up with new comments on a post they have already commented on with this cool little WordPress plugin called Comment Notifier.  You can find Comment Notifier here.

Once you have the plugin installed and activated, the option can appear as a checkbox at the bottom of your posts like this:
